Divorce Rates(Choropleth Map)

This map represents the divorce rate for the U.S.A for the years 1980-1990. It gives not only a state by state breakdown but also a county by county one as well. It shows that certain states have higher rates than others and that even though one thinks that California has the highest it is the Southwest with the highest.

LANDSAT of Florida

This is a LANDSAT of Florida. It depicts the greenery and such of Florida. The purpose of this map is to give us space visualization of what Florida looks like from space. This map could be used in situations where natural disasters occurred to give us a better idea of the scale of them.

 I find the internet itself to be its own geographic entity now even though it isn't exactly a physical entity. This map shows how many of the major sites of the internet are connected to one another and how these connections even though we don't see them lead us certain pathways on the internet and how we are connected globally.

Tea and Propaganda Maps






This image shows the relative teas present around the world. It lets one think that tea is the drink of the world and that it really does have properties important for our body. The map also depicts the different types of teas and what differing regions place in there hot beverage to make themselves happy.

DEM Map of Antartica


This map shows the relative elevations of Antartica underneath the ice sheets that cover most of the continent. You see that its highest elevations are closest to the Indian ocean and the lowest ones are associated with the Pacific.

Thematic Map dealing with Soil Moisture Content






This map depicts soil moisture content throughout the United States. It shows that out west in the Sonoran Desert and in Death Valley we have very low levels of moisture in the soil where you wouldn't expect high levels of water due to the arid climates. It then depicts the eastern half of the country as relatively moist with Florida and Louisiana having the highest levels.

Chronic Disease in United States


This is an univariate choropleth map depicting levels of chronic disease in the United States relative to poverty. You can see that areas such as the Four Corner Region and the Appalachian Mountains in Kentucky and West Virginia have the highest levels.
